Jamie Cruikshank's Profile

Jamie has over 10 years in the biotech/life-science industry; including R&D, laboratory management, systems validation, sales, marketing, education, and on-line media. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, and a M.S, Single Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State, Fullerton in Secondary Education. Now a part of the Ambry Genetics team, Jamie will bring leadership and expertise as Product Manager for Neurological Disorders and Developmental Delays, focusing on CGH Chips,CMA's, and Platform Products. Her responsibilities as part of the Global Product Management team at Ambry is to integrate the various segments of a business into a strategically focused program that maximizes the value of a portfolio of products and applications geared for the identification of Neurological disorders. Jamie will work directly with customers and industry leaders to assess the process and technology needs of the marketplace and help drive the process to bring technology and products to our customers. She will be responsible for product lifecycle activities, including product positioning, promotion and merchandising that will drive both growth and profitability. Jamie also seeks to connect with other scientists, doctors, and researchers interested in collaborating efforts to providing top tier products and services to the bioscience industry. She began her career in the industry as a Research Scientist at Ambry Genetics, where Jamie was able to explore her interests in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Then promoted to Laboratory Manager, she became involved in the development of prenatal assays using genetic markers to identify patients at risk for Cystic Fibrosis and other homozygous recessive disorders. She then went on to work at Beckman Coulter as a Research Scientist in the QC and Systems Validation Lab. Here she worked with the CX, LX, and UniCel DxC 600i Synchron(R) Access(R) clinical system Immunoassay. She performed validation and quality assurance of the 89 reagents on-board, ranging from cardiac and tumor markers to tests for renal function, diabetes and more. A highly motivated business professional, she also coordinated Vendor/Product Shows within the Pacific Rim territory. Her major accounts included John A. Burns School of Medicine, UH Manoa, Hawaii Dep't of Health (State Laboratories Division), and Cancer Research Center of Hawaii. At Labroots, she has the opportunity to use her fundamental project management principals to help Labroots meet their goals faster, more efficiently, and with higher quality results as the Life Sciences Director. Also moderating the Genetics forum for LabRoots, Jamie is responsible for the integrity of posts; growth of discipline; providing material and information; and moving the field forward by sharing information and connecting like-minded geneticists. Other Interests: Ex-Pro snowboarder who runs to the mountains whenever she can - whether it's to take a few runs or hike and camp with her family. She enjoys outdoor sports, played rugby all through college, and grew up riding and showing horses.
