| Job Details/Summary: | Process Development Opportunities Our client, a local leader in the biotech industry, is focused on the development of vaccines and therapeutics that assist the immune system to prevent or treat disease. This client has many successful projects in the pipeline and is currently in search of Process Development associates to join their company effort. Job Title: Scientist, Analytical Development Years of Experience: 5 plus years of related experience Job Description: The Scientist will assist in developing assays and testing of in process protein samples utilizing HPLC, fluorescent, visible and UV based spectrophotometric methods. Scientist will also develop assays to measure residual elements in final bulk drug substance (such as antibiotic and detergent). Required: Knowledge of formulation development for protein drug substance. Additional responsibilities will involve technology transfer to internal or external quality control groups and assisting in laboratory maintenance. Other responsibilities will include generation of test methods, product reports and other forms of documentation. Special Skills Required: Experience with assay qualification or validation and related experience of biotech/pharmaceutical companies. Educational Requirement: Successful candidate will have a PhD with a degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or equivalent Job Title: Associate Scientist, Analytical Development Years of Experience: 3-5 years of related experience Job Description: The Associate Scientist will assist in the development of assays utilizing standard methods including: SDS-PAGE; Western blot; general protein assays; fluorescent, visible and UV based spectrophotometric methods; and immunologically based methods such as ELISAs and cytofluorometric based methods. Additional responsibilities will involve technology transfer to internal or external quality control groups and assisting in laboratory maintenance. Other responsibilities will include generation of test methods, product reports and other forms of documentation. Special Skills Required: Experience with assay qualification or validation. Educational Requirement: BS or a MS with a degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or equivalent Job Title: Associate Engineer Process Development Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Job Description: The Associate Engineer will perform duties across the Process Development Group with a primary focus on purification and formulation. Responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the development of purification processes utilizing standard purification methods including chromatography and tangential flow filtration o Assist experimental design with use of DOE in to determining experimental set-up and range findings o Assist in data analysis - Set-up and running of experimental protocols based on DOE outputs - Monitoring and analyzing target proteins using methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, BCA and Bradford assay - Technology transfer including the generation of proper Engineering documentation and scale-up data using engineering standards - Generation of Block Flow and Process Flow diagrams - Generation of development batch records, - Assist in Equipment Sizing, Specification and ordering of equipment - Maintaining the laboratory - Assist Other Departments in the Process Development Group in developing Engineering Standards and approaches - Work with Group to keep on the leading edge by developing justifications and recommending the use of evolving and latest technologies available in the market place Educational Requirement: Bachelors degree in Engineering required; EIT Certificate preferred Job Title: Associate Scientist Years of Experience: Minimum of 4 years of related experience. Job Description: The Associate Scientist will be part of a purification and formulation process development team; Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of purification processes utilizing standard methods including chromatography and tangential flow filtration; monitoring and analyzing target proteins using methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, BCA and Bradford assay; technology transfer and assist in maintaining the laboratory. Other responsibilities will include generation of development batch records, product reports and other forms of documentation. Experience using AKTA Explorers and AKTA Crossflow or Uniflux TFF systems preferred. Experience with DOE also desirable. Educational Requirement: Bachelors or Masters degree in Biochemistry or related field Job Title: Associate Scientist/Engineer- Fermentation Job Location: Gaithersburg, MD Job Description: Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of microbial fermentation processes utilizing standard fermentation methods including batch and fed batch; monitoring and analyzing expression of target proteins; standard harvest and recovery methodologies including centrifugation and tangential flow filtration; technology transfer and assist in maintaining the laboratory. Other responsibilities will include generation of development batch records, product reports and other forms of documentation. Special Skills Required: Experience in microbial fermentation required and has ability to operate and sample fermentor and downstream equipment for centrifugation, microfiltration, and utrafiltration. Educational Requirement: BS or a Masters degree in microbiology or an undergraduate degree in biochemical or chemical engineering or equivalent Job Title: Scientist, Fermentation Years of Experience: 5-8 years of related experience. Job Description: The Fermentation Scientist will develop microbial fermentation processes utilizing standard fermentation methods including batch and fed batch; monitoring and analyzing expression of target proteins and an utilization of essential nutrient, i.e. amino acid; standard harvest and recovery methodologies including centrifugation and tangential flow filtration; technology transfer and assist in maintaining the laboratory. Other responsibilities will include generation of development batch records, product reports and other forms of documentation and present results in a project meeting. Special Skills Required: Experience in microbial fermentation required and has ability to operate and sample fermentor and downstream equipment for centrifugation, microfiltration, and utrafiltration. Educational Requirement: Bachelors, Master, or Doctoral degree in microbiology or an undergraduate degree in biochemical or chemical engineering or equivalent |
