Job Details/Summary:	Applications Specialist Physical Sciences Imaging Company: Andor Technology Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland Reporting to: Director of Product Management Job Description: To support Andor Technology's continued growth we are recruiting for the role of Applications Specialist - Physical Sciences Imaging to join the Product Management & Marketing team. The position will involve contributing to the Product Management & Marketing team’s objectives by supporting regional sales staff in pre and post sales applications support within their area of application experience. KEY TASKS AND DUTIES: 1. Pre and Post Sales support in their area of application expertise. 2. Manage the Key Research Contact Program within the specific area of responsibility. 3. Assist in other regional marketing activities in their area of expertise including road shows, trade exhibitions and mailshots. 4. Manage the demonstration of equipment from an application perspective to provide greatest positive effect. 5. Liaise with Product Managers, Marketing and other departments to advise and agree key product features that match agreed application focus and maximize USPs. 6. Liaise with Market Specialists to assist in the roll out of new product introductions. 7. Assess Customer Special Request requirements, recommend the most appropriate solution and liaise between Engineering and Sales organizations. 8. Liaise with other regional applications specialists to ensure efficiency of regional operations and coherence of global operations. 9. Any other duties as may reasonably be required, from time to time, by your line manager. Person Specification and assessment method Training and Education: Essential - Minimum 2.1 in a Physical Science degree (e.g. Astronomy, Physics, Physical Chemistry etc). Desirable - PhD in a Physical Science or Astronomy discipline. Method of Assessment - CV and references. Experience: Essential - Minimum 3 years research experience involving Physical Sciences and gained in industry or academia. Desirable - Knowledge of scientific camera usage in advanced Photonics Applications; Knowledge of X-Ray imaging. Method of Assessment - References. Behavioral skills & Competencies: Essential - Excellent communication skills; Able to work on own initiative; Team player; Capable of building business relationships; Excellent organizational skills; Self-motivated. Desirable - Experienced in making presentations; Experience in training individuals to use applications/technical products; Experience in writing scientific papers or articles. Method of Assessment - interview presentation. Special Circumstances: Essential - Able to travel overseas when required (up to 30%); Able to work outside core hours when required.
