| Job Details/Summary: | Description: Assist in the development of strategies for the life sciences mass spectrometry business in Environmental and Food Safety global markets. This will include assisting in developing and communicating clear and consistent marketing strategies, messages, and competitive selling arguments. Insure marketing strategies are aligned across software and hardware products. Help develop tools to capture customer input (VOC) and emerging trends in key markets, and insure this information is communicated to product marketing, sales and R&E groups. Develop and maintain current competitive marketing information for review and response. Assisting in developing and implementing global launch strategies for product introductions and subsequent market development. Work with key stakeholders (e.g. sales, and customers) to identify and implement effective marketing messages. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Interface with Product Marketing groups and R&E to insure alignment of strategic marketing goals in specific vertical markets. Insure hardware and software goals are consistent and coordinated for strategic market initiatives - Develop market specific applications and provide customer applications support - Work with MarCom group to develop effective, complete marketing plans across mass spectrometry product lines in key vertical markets. Develop messages, collateral and plans for promoting vertical market messages. - Help with timely and effective product introductions, including necessary product training for sales and customers. - Provide input for the development of MarCom pieces to effectively promote products, capabilities, and total solutions, including sales collateral, ad & mailer development, product announcements, technical articles published, sales tools, technical web content, etc. in a timely manner - Manage relationships with outside collaborators. Requires: - BS science (chemistry, biochemistry, physics or related discipline) MS or Ph.D. preferred - 3+ years of actual hands on experience with LC-MS/MS systems for quantitative and qualitative work, method development and trouble shooting in a LC/MS laboratory. Completion of a Ph.D. in relevant field may substitute for work experience - Demonstrated technical/scientific knowledge of the life sciences mass spectrometry area and clear understanding of the key vertical markets in life sciences mass spectrometry. - Ability to develop and articulate strategic marketing plans aim at growing life science mass spectrometry business in key markets such as proteomics, metabolism, bioanalysis, food safety and clinical toxicology. - High comfort level interacting and discussing how products are used with customers. - Experience with product development and launches processes. - External (customer facing) experience within a manufacturing business for laboratory analysis equipment. - Ability to work effectively and influence others in a matrix environment. - High level of intensity and positive approach to embracing change. - Ability to schedule multiple tasks and priorities. - Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal/relationship skills รข?? particularly intercultural skills; strong customer orientation. - Able to express commitment to One Thermo and the integrated Scientific Instruments division - Able to embrace and proactively support division priorities over individual product line goals when necessary - Global travel will be required - up to 40% of time Geo Location: San Jose, California |
