Service Engineer - LC/MS

Job Details/Summary:The individual filling this position will be responsible for installations, training, telephone and on-site diagnostics and repair services as well as preventative maintenance visits primarily to Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ customers located in the Northeast region. The successful candidate must have proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on sophisticated electronic and mechanical instrumentation in a commercial scientific laboratory environment. Applicants must have the ability to work independently and have effective communication skills.



We require a minimum of an associate’s degree in electronics or chemistry and at least 2 years related experience or equivalent. In addition, this position requires experience troubleshooting, installing, and servicing scientific instruments; experience as a field service engineer or chemist working on LC-Mass Spectrometry and other scientific instrumentation is required. This position requires site management skills and extensive customer interaction; therefore strong interpersonal skills are essential. Travel in order to meet customer needs is required; the position will be home-based in the Princeton, NJ area.
