Measuring pollutants in plant matter and/or in water samples
I am beginning research on the effectiveness of rain gardens planted with edible vegetation. One portion of my project will consist of measuring the pollutant uptake of plant matter to test whether it will serve as a health risk if consumed.
Do any of you work in a lab or know of one that could test the pollutant uptake of plant matter and/or pollutant levels in water samples? I am specifically interested in measuring total carbon, grease and oil, etc.
If you know of a lab where I could have this process done, how much would it cost per sample and what is the turnaround time?
Thanks!

We saw a display of "metromorphosis" at the Philadelphia Flower Show on March 2. The team had studied these (and other) issues. You can contact the Dept. of Landscape Architecture & Horticulture in Ambler, PA. Their webiste is www.temple.edu/ambler Regards, Rich |
