AXIMA@SARAMIS : easy identification of microoganism within one minute

AXIMA@SARAMIS is the easy to use Microbial Identification System revolutionizing daily routine in analytical and diagnostic laboratories. Cultured microorganisms can be directly applied to the MALDI sample target and introduced to an AXIMA series MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer.

Outstanding recovery rate, fast achieved
Within one minute, AXIMA@SARAMIS identifies grampositive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast, fungi and spores based on their characteristic MALDI-TOF MS fingerprints with up to 98 % recovery rate down to sub-species level. No preselection of analytical methods is required, hands-on time is reduced and costs are cut dramatically.
Wide range of Applications

AXIMA@SARAMIS covers a wide range of applications. Various industries benefit from this new analytical approach, such as diagnostics, pharmaceutical industry, healthcare and food industry.

It offers rapid and reliable diagnosis of human and veterinarian infectious pathogens. Results can be transferred automatically to any LIMS*.

In the drug discovery process AXIMA@SARAMIS recognizes new isolates generated by microorganisms and classifies the unknown into a taxonomic tree.

For use in culture collections AXIMA@SARAMIS identifies and classifies strains based on phenotype characteristics.

AXIMA@SARAMIS is used in manufacturing processes of food and beverages to provide high quality and to recognize upcoming toxic microorganisms at an early stage.

With the AXIMA models Shimadzu offers AXIMA-Assurance, AXIMA-Confidence and AXIMA-Performance. The right instrument for different applications needing reliability, reproducibility and sensitivity
