Infrared spectroscopy (IR spectroscopy) is the spectroscopy that deals with the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum, that is light with a longer wavelength and lower frequency than visible light. IR spectroscopy is a very useful technique for the characterization of solid, especially when the measurement is performed by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) method.
