Science Continues to Fight an Uphill Battle in Modern Society
2 12 1008

Although science is incredibly useful to the modern world, it continues to be an uphill battle for scientists to get their ideas out into the world. For thousands of years, mankind has struggled to fully adopt the principles of science, as things like government, religion, money, and values can often get in the way of accomplishing any real research.

Despite a thriving future in the scientific field, huge organizations like NASA continue to receive budget cuts, which significantly drop the productivity rates of these organizations, and hence it also reduces the speed at which new discoveries and technological advancements can become adopted by the mainstream world.

In ancient days, people were burned at the stake for their ideas if they went against common belief. In the not-so-distant past, people were ridiculed for having great ideas, and later congratulated when they achieved them. One good example is the father of modern rocketry, Dr. Robert H. Goddard.

With a continually-growing show of ignorance in today's society that comprises of people that often don't really know what it is that they're talking about, as well as governmental control in various counties that prevent discoveries and information from ever reaching the public, science is shunned and/or never reaches its full potential when it really could.

Nonetheless, science always finds a way; maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but some day.
