In any home where there are small children, parents will work hard to make sure the home is safe. Cabinet locks, outlet covers and even cushions on sharp corners or fireplace brickwork are all examples of baby proofing a home. Naturally, keeping harmful substances out of the reach of babies and toddlers is important. Now, some parents might need to keep laundry detergent pods away from their teenagers. The "Tide Pod Challenge" is all the rage on social media and it's exactly what it sounds like.

Teens are filming themselves eating the pods and daring their friends to do the same. The pods contain highly concentrated amounts of detergent that is dangerous when ingested. There are warnings on the bag because to small children they look like candy, but for teens, it's about the attention and being in on the latest craze. Tide has gone so far as to have their spokesperson, New England Patriots player Rob Gronkowski, record a public service message telling teens to step away from the pod challenge.
