China's first virtual reality theme park, called Oriental Science Fiction Valley, opened at the end of April 2018. It has a sci-fi focus and offers guests VR immersion rides with traditional coaster tracks as well as those with multidirectional moving seats. The futuristic park also features environmental attractions like the physical 170-foot-high robot statue that is reminiscent of a Transformer at the entrance. The facility is located in the southwestern province of Guizhou. VR tours of the province are also available.

"It is completely different from anything I've done before. I am totally stunned," one young VR-ride-enthusiast said.

CEO Chen Jianli thinks the park's VR and AR equipment will "help the general public better understand the emerging industry in a more fun and intuitive way."
