It is time to take the “work” out of workflow and improve the efficiency of your clinical lab. Hear how
other clinical labs are improving the way they process clinical samples using the BD FACSDuet sample
preparation system in conjunction with the BD FACSLyric for a complete sample-to-answer solution.
Meet our clinical sales team and network with other attendees. Plus, explore posters, tools, resources,

Chris Scott is the Service Manager and Lead Biomedical Scientist for Immunology at Barts Heath NHS Trust. The trust covers St. Bartholomew's Hospital and The Royal London Hospital in the city of London and three District general Hospitals in East London. The laboratory services are ever-evolving. In the past five years Pathology at Barts has undergone a trust merger, entered into a managed service contract with a primary provider, implemented a single LIMS, and became ISO accredited with a single quality management system over 4 sites and 15 different disciplines. Currently, the trust is undergoing feasibility studies to join with two other NHS trusts to form a Pathology Network as part of the NHS Improvement program. In addition to managing pathology laboratory services, Chris is the Chief Examiner for Immunology at the Institute of Biomedical Science, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Panel. He co-edited Clinical Immunology, which is part of the Fundamentals of Biomedical Science book series. He has over 30 years' experience in running an ever-changing diagnostic laboratory service.
Abigail Kelliher lives and breathes immunology and flow cytometry. Her 30-year career began at the Center of Blood Research, a Harvard University laboratory. There, she contributed to several research and clinical trials by developing hybridomas and leveraging flow cytometry as one of many techniques.
She then moved to the Massachusetts General Hospital where she helped establish the clinical diagnostic flow cytometry lab along with Fred Preffer. The lab focused primarily on the immunophenotypic analysis of hematologic malignancies and disorders.
Abby’s passion lies in helping clinicians unlock accuracy through flow cytometry. She is currently a Clinical Science Liaison with BD, where she serves as the bridge between clinical science and technology.
Joana Sin is a medical technical specialist with ten years of hematology and six years of flow cytometry laboratory experience. She holds a specialist in cytometry (SCYM) board certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Joanna received her Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology, with honors, from the University of Toronto. She then went on to earn a Clinical Laboratory Quality Manager Graduate Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science from The Michener Institute of Education at UHN, Toronto, ON, Canada. As an integral part of the laboratory at Unity Health Toronto- St. Michael's Hospital, she has completed key operator training on the BD FACSLyric Flow Cytometer and FACSDuet Sample Preparation System.
