Quantifying Protein Aggregates by Sedimentation Velocity

Speaker

Abstract
Protein aggregates can impact patient safety. This is especially important in the Biotech industry. Regulatory agencies are very worried about protein aggregates. Dr. Stoner breaks his webinar into three parts. He first starts with a discussion of the AUC itself and protein aggregates. He talks about how we use AUC to quantify protein aggregates. Next Dr. Stoner talks about how size exclusion chromatography compares with sedimentation velocity. Lastly, he shows a simulation and describes how it’s a very powerful tool to see what you can get out of the AUC and to be able to understand the results that you’re getting.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand how size exclusion chromatography compares to sedimentation velocity
  • Understand how the Analytical Ultracentrifuge (AUC) is used to quantify protein aggregates
  • See how The Analytical Ultracentrifuge (AUC) is a powerful tool and understand the results you can get from the instrument
