Abstract
Small extracellular vesicles (EVs) and Exosomes released by cells, have gained significant interest in biomedical research due to their potential applications in diagnostics and therapeutics. Isolating EVs and exosomes from biological fluids like blood, urine, or saliva enables researchers to explore their cargo, which includes proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. This provides valuable insights into disease mechanisms, biomarker discovery, and therapeutic potentials. Ultracentrifugation effectively separates EVs/exosomes from other contaminants based on their size and density. Its practical implementation in most laboratories makes it accessible to researchers worldwide. Nevertheless, the lack of standardized isolation methods has led to challenges in achieving reproducible and reliable results. Standardizing exosome isolation with this technique not only ensures consistent results within a laboratory but also promotes data comparability across different research groups. By adhering to standardized protocols, researchers can confidently interpret and compare their findings, accelerating progress in the field of exosome research. In our upcoming webinar, we will review the most common workflows for exosome isolation using ultracentrifugation.

Learning Objectives
  • Exosome research challenges and key considerations when selecting isolation techniques.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the ultracentrifugation process for isolating EVs and exosomes.
  • How should one select the best centrifuge and rotor setup to isolate exosome vesicles?

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
