Preemptive PGx at Population-Scale: Implementation in Pittsburgh

Speaker

Abstract

Building upon the highly successful PreCISE-Rx clinical implementation program, we recently launched a Pharmacogenomics Center of Excellence to combine expertise and technology in genomics, implementation science, and medication response phenotyping. The Center aims to discover and deploy novel testing technology, validate medication response predictors in patients, overcome clinical implementation barriers and demonstrate the value of pre-emptive PGx testing in routine clinical practice across one of largest health systems in the nation. The lead project will evaluate the value of pre-emptive PGx testing in >150,000 individuals through an innovative research-clinical model and disseminate proof clinical utility, and economic proof points.

This session will describe that model and efforts to return results to the EHRs, to providers, and to individuals to leverage the value of pharmacogenomics to achieve precision prescribing.
