Abstract

In this talk, we will review using LC MS for Quantitative analysis of Pet Hemp product specifically CBD oils. Seven samples of commercial CBD oil marketed for pets were analyzed. LoD and LoQ were obtained. Matrix matched calibratrs were used for quantitative analysis.   The same samples were analyzed qualitatively for spectral compound verification. In addition, comparisons will be made between UV and MSD analysis for Hemp.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the difference between UV and LC MS in regards to potency testing.

2. Explain how using LC MS in potency testing adds more certitude to Hemp analysis especially for confirmation of lower than 0.3% delta 9 THC by weight calculations.

3. Discuss peak purity and  spectral identification relative to potency analysis.
