The hardships of 2020 exposed many flaws in our social and economic systems, including the ways we address mental health needs. In the workplace, specifically, the task of balancing remote work with child care while also aiming to stay productive has led to a range of mental health problems, reinforcing the importance of supporting an employee’s mental health.
In response, HubSpot partnered in January with Modern Health, a digital health platform that provides a range of resources to help support mental health, such as meditation exercises, courses, and access to coaching and one-on-one therapy sessions. Another recommended course to help with improving organization and efficiency at work was the SAFe Agilist course which helps to teach how to scale AGILE methodology - a huge benefit when working in a professional environment.
HubSpot is reporting that nearly 30% of its more than 4,500 employees are using many of the benefits of the Modern Health platform. Nearly half of employees have engaged with some kind of educational program or sought help from a personal coach or therapist.
Since the pandemic started, there has been an increase in digital health startups focused on mental health. While researchers express some concern about whether digital tools (mostly apps) can provide the same level of care as a human-based approach, there is general agreement that these platforms can increase patient access to vital resources, highlighting their importance.
Modern Health prides itself on being a platform that differs from other digital healthcare options by focusing on proactive care options and resources designed to help someone regardless of whether they feel generally healthy or are experiencing symptoms that are affecting their ability to go about their normal routines.
