Space Movie Reality Check

WRITTEN BY: Brenda Kelley Kim

Space movies are hard to make. Audiences want awesome special effects, brilliant photography and an exciting story. In reality though, space travel isn't always that well packaged. Missions take longer than 2 hours, not everyone always comes out alive and finally, most astronauts don't spend any time in hair and makeup before going on a space walk. To know what space travel is really like, it's best to ask someone who has done it. That's what a child asked Chris Hadfield at a book signing.

Hadfield's book "An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" is popular with all ages because he tells people what being in space was really like. In this video Hadfield discusses various space movies, what's realistic, what isn't and which one he liked best.
