Even Big Cats Will Play in Cardboard Boxes

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

Felines seem to have a weird obsession with boxes - put one near one and they'll jump right in and make themselves cozy. This has almost always been the case with house cats, so experts wanted to know if large cats would do it too.

What they found was quite interesting. Larger cats that aren't at the top of the food chain were more likely to crawl into the boxes looking for shelter, while the largest of the large cats, which are at the top of the food chain, were less likely to seek shelter and would rather tear the boxes into shreds.

Nevertheless, all of the species of large cats found the boxes interesting as they were added to their environment, and they all had to go over to the boxes to investigate what they were.

Cats and boxes - an unbreakable relationship? Maybe so, but it depends which cat you ask.
