Abstract

This presentation will focus on the near- and medium-term future of COVID. COVID will become endemic, but what does this really mean?  How will COVID affect longevity in the United States?  What is the future of COVID vaccinations and boosters?  Will COVID become "like the flu", and in what ways?

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss some major similarities and differences between covid and the 1918 flu pandemic.

2. Explain what is infectious disease endemicity and how it applies to covid.

3. Discuss how 500,000 covid deaths in the USA translate into declines in life expectancy.
