Here's What it Takes to Live Until You're 100

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

People are living longer today than ever, with many easily surpassing the big 100-year mark. With the help of modern healthcare and knowledge of exercise & nutrition, the number is expected only to rise as time goes on.

Not everyone lives to be 100 years old, nor does everyone want to, but there are some things you can do to increase your odds if you want to stick around for a little while longer.

For example, eating healthier foods is a step forward in the right direction; take-out food is typically unhealthy in comparison to home-cooked meals, so those who eat the latter are more likely to live longer.

Studies have also shown that keeping a positive attitude, exercising regularly, sleeping well, and having sex can also increase your life expectancy.

A bevy of other factors may also assist in living longer, but much today's data comes by way of correlations rather than hard evidence. Nevertheless, it doesn't hurt to follow those who have great success in living longer, so consider modeling your lifestyle habits similarly if you plan to live to 100 and beyond.
