Why A Good Balance of Pessimism and Optimism is Important

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

There are two kinds of people in this world; optimists and pessimists. The optimists are always happy-go-lucky and feel like the world has a plan for them, while pessimists see the negatives in everything, and feel like nothing ever goes right.

There are also people who are equally balanced, and as it turns out, these people do better with handling every day on a day-by-day basis.

A good balance of pessimism and optimism can be better than being too far to the right or too far to the left.

Being too optimistic means you'll have too much confidence and you'll lack the discipline to actually carry out what needs to be done. On the other hand, being too pessimistic means that you'll try harder to reach goals because you know something is difficult to do.

Being right in the middle, you'll have a good balance of confidence and self-control. With both of these factors on your side, you're sure to carry out a day more productively than being too far on one side than the other.
