Trust Marie Curie!

trust_me-curie01Marie Curie was a Polish-French physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. Not only was she the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the only person to win a Nobel Prize in two different sciences, she was the first person and only woman to win twice! Her outstanding achievements include the development of the theory of radioactivity (coined by Marie), techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of two elements, polonium (named after her native Poland) and radium. Sadly, Marie Curie died in 1934, aged 66, of aplastic anemia from exposure to radiation over the course of her research career and due to her radiological work at field hospitals during World War I. Given her wealth of contributions to the world of science, LabRoots would like to honor such a founding woman in chemistry and physics with the new Marie Curie t-shirt! “Trust me, I’m a Scientist” brings Marie Curie back to life in a fun new graphic. And it’s even glow in the dark! (A tribute to radioactivity, of course.) darwinBut hey, men are not excluded from being trusted… Don’t forget about the LabRoots Charles Darwin “Trust me, I’m a Scientist!” t-shirt. Marie Curie and Charles Darwin were esteemed scientists with sound theories and techniques that have been trusted throughout history, and our shirts are designed to acknowledge these great people. They are perfect gifts for the scientist in your life, or just for yourself, and urge us all to trust in science! #LRMarieCurie #LRCharlesDarwin #LRTrustMe
