    Trees

Trees are generally considered plants consisting of a long stem, known as a trunk, and branches and/or leaves. Usually, the trunk supports leaves and branches, which grow high off the ground, by providing water and nutrients. Water and nutrients are transported into the trunk through root systems which grow below the ground to aid in stabilizing the tree.
