    Neanderthal

    (also known as Neandertals, or by their scientific name Homo neanderthalensis) are an extinct species of hominin who lived throughout Eurasia until around 40,000 years ago. Neandertals most likely went extinct due to assimilation into the modern human genome, climate change, or disease and were known for their more sophisticated technology and culture.
