    A planet is a large astronomical body that orbits a star. They can also be remnants of stars that have formed spherical shapes as a result of their own gravitational forces. There are eight planets in our Solar System: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
