    Animal and plant biotechnology

Biotechnology is a branch of science that integrates natural sciences, including the biological study of animal and plants, with engineering. Animal and plant biotechnology applies molecular biology techniques to genetically engineer the genome of animals or plants. The goal of animal and plant biotechnology is to improve the animal or plant population making it more desirable. Applications of biotechnology include improving suitability of the animal or plant for agriculture, industry, or pharmaceutics.
