Cassava breeding
Cassava is a root vegetable that is a major food crop, especially in parts of the developing world. It has recently been part of breeding programs with success. It is a heterozygous plant (meaning, it is usually cross-pollinated by insects) and therefore its breeding is based on heterozygous progenirators.
