Electrocorticography
Electrocorticography describes a process used to monitor brain activity by measuring electrical activity generated from the cerebral cortex. To perform electrocorticography measurements a craniotomy is needed. This is a surgical incision made into the skill exposing the brain. Electrodes used to measure brain activity are placed directly on the exposed surface of brain.
