Forensic Anthropology and Odontology
Forensic anthropology is a subfield of biological anthropology concerened with the identificaion of human remains which are decomposed, burned, mutilated or otherwise unrecognizable. Forensic anthropologists contribute efforts to identify remains in the event of a criminal investigation, genocide, and/or natural disaster. They often use skeletal and/or dental (odontology) remains to estabish the person's race, sex, stature, and other aspects of their biological profile to try to identify them.
