The Heart 101

WRITTEN BY: Abbie Arce

The video above is a student's perfect companion to any intro to an anatomy course. As for those studying the anatomy of the heart for the first time will tell you, it is a notoriously hard organ for a beginner to grasp. Nevertheless, the heart is a vital organ and a significant amount of time is spent trying to explain its form and function. Even students that have taken courses in anatomy and physiology previously struggle to label the parts of the heart and their functions. If you are currently studying and looking to get acquainted, or if for whatever reason you are looking to reacquaint yourself with the heart, look no further. For about ten minutes of commitment, you can get a review of the introductory concepts about the heart and count yourself ahead of the curve. In the video, Hank Green of Crash Course quickly and concisely gives you a rundown of the heart’s basic anatomy and physiology in an entertaining and easy to understand presentation.
