Are Tesla's Solar Roof Panels a Game-Changer?

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

Solar power is a seemingly limitless form of renewable energy that produces zero emissions and is good for our environment. It's so good, in fact, that people are beginning to install solar panels on their own roofs to power their homes.

On the other hand, solar panels are nothing less than bulky and ugly, so Tesla set out to solve this problem by developing something known as solar roof, which are basically solar panel tiles made to look like traditional roofs, but with the ability to collect sunlight and convert it into electrical power.

The idea is to make the solar collectors subtler and prevent them from standing out from anyone else's home, but while still letting you take advantage of the Sun's limitless light to power your electronics.

It comes in several different styles and power from the solar roof gets stored in massive Tesla batteries inside of the user's garage. Homeowners can start pre-ordering solar roof right now, but they won't be available until later in 2017.
