The Super Bowl of Cancer Research

It's the largest gathering of cancer researchers and medical professionals during the year and the expertise being brought together is mind-blowing. The American Society of Clinical Oncology is holding it's 2017 annual meeting this week in Chicago. Bringing together 30,000 professionals in the field of cancer research is no easy task, but the benefits of that much collaboration and experience cannot be denied. From doctors, to researchers and equipment specialists, it's essentially the Super Bowl of cancer research.

Pharmaceutical companies attend alongside doctors, clinicians and even patients to bring science and hope together in the fight against cancer. Hot topics in research this year include liquid biopsies, cancer biomarkers, precision medicine tailored to a particular tumor or disease and immunotherapy. No matter what area of cancer care, research or treatment, there is something at ASCO that will have the latest information on it.
