In 2015, over 1.6 million new cases of cancer were diagnosed in the United States alone. As the leading cause of death worldwide, it is no surprise that cancer is one of the scariest diagnoses anyone can receive from their doctors. Fear of cancer has motivated society to be more conscious about their health and diet. But it has also spurred a host of misconceptions about the causes of cancer and its cures.
