Bad Air Sends Residents Fleeing

In Porter Ranch, CA a methane gas leak has caused residents to leave their homes and re-locate miles away where they could breathe. The leak started in October 2015 and has been blowing down on nearby houses and the community every since. Experts estimate that 70,000 pounds of methane flows into the air every hour.

Over six thousand residents have filed lawsuits against SoCal Gas, the utility that manages the well that is leaking. They are currently drilling a relief well to cap off of the leak, but in the meantime two elementary schools have had to be moved out of the area. Check out the video to see how this community is coping with bad air.
