Do You Need to Have a Lot of Friends to be Happy?

WRITTEN BY: Anthony Bouchard

Friends are great - they help us laugh, they help us through hard times in life, but do you really need to have a lot of friends to live a happy life?

Research suggests that more friends are tied to greater sources of income, so those making more money are more likely to meet new people. On the other hand, if you have fewer friends, it may suggest that you're smarter than the average person.

How my friends does a single person need? - Honestly it just depends on the personality, but there is research to suggest that the human species shouldn't really have more than about 150 friends each.

Breaking that down even further, most people will have about 5-15 close friends, in addition to several acquaintances.
