Abstract
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020, or nearly one in six deaths, according to the World Health Organization. Many cancers can be cured if detected early and treated effectively. Cancer detection and treatment are based on biomarker analysis from a patient tumor sample, called tissue biopsy. As a minimal invasive option complementary to traditional biopsies, liquid biopsies enable discovery of highly specific and sensitive biomarkers and can be used for dynamic and timely monitoring of tumor progression. The three major types of biomarkers being isolated and analyzed in liquid biopsy are circulating tumor cells (CTCs), extracellular vesicles, and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA).

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are committed to developing highly sensitive liquid biopsy-based assays and providing robust sample preparation solutions. Among them, Dynabeads magnetic beads represent an ideal tool for the enrichment, isolation/release, and detection of various biomarkers from liquid biopsy, including CTCs, exosomes and ctDNA. In this webinar, we will address the key methods for biomarker enrichment during the sample preparation process, which is a crucial step in the overall liquid biopsy-based workflow.

Learning Objectives
  • Acquire knowledge about enrichment methods of CTCs and exosomes from liquid biopsy
  • Get an insight into the target enrichment for library preparations for next generation sequencing workflows
  • Discover the versatile use of Dynabeads magnetic beads for isolation of liquid biopsy-derived biomarkers

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
