Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the leading health threats facing humankind. With AMR, microbes can withstand the effects of antimicrobial medicines, even when the infecting organisms have previously been killed by treatment. In order to develop novel, more effective therapies, researchers need a better understanding of the mechanisms of resistance, the genetic structure and phenotypic diversity of the organisms causing the disease, and the host immune response to the infecting agent. In this webinar, we will explore how technologies such as high-content imaging, machine learning, in vivo mouse models, and fluorescent bacterial and in vivo imaging support the development of novel antimicrobials, immunotherapies, and vaccines against highly resistant Klebsiella, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus.
