    Biography
      Subodh Nimkar is a Senior Product Manager in MGI based in Complete Genomics facility in San Jose CA. His primary responsibilities include management and commercialization of the novel CoolMPS Chemistry for Massively Parallel Sequencing on DNBSEQ platforms. He is also responsible for product management and commercialization of MGIs sequencing solutions in AMERICAS. Over last 20 years he has worked with ABI, Thermo Fisher, Agilent and Streck. He has authored two key patents at ABI and commercialized solutions based on that. He holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering and MBA.

      Biography
        Pan Zhang serves as the Laboratory Director at BGI, which provides high-throughput NGS services to a wide range of customers. Prior of joining BGI, she was the Director of the Sequencing and Microarray Center at Coriell Institute for Medical Research, where she oversaw genome analyses of thousands of participants in precision medicine research studies. Before Coriell, Pan was a senior clinical research scientist at Weill Cornell Medicine New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she was responsible for developing next-generation sequencing for clinical oncology tests in a molecular diagnostic laboratory and translational research studies. She earned her advanced degree in neuropharmacology at Beijing University Health Science Center and her medical degree at Shanxi Medical University. She acquired her doctorate in biomedical sciences from Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.

      Abstract

      BGI Group has been at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19, from sequencing the 2019-nCoV virus genome to offering RT-PCR and sequencing-based detection solutions. BGI's RT-PCR Kit received FDA EUA on Mar 26 and ready for commercial distribution in the US market. This webinar will present details of the RT-PCR kit as well as BGI's integrated workflows from automated sample prep, viral RNA extraction to RT-PCR testing, as well as a mNGS test that have been deployed in China and over 60 countries.
