    Biography
      Joanna Asprer has over ten years of experience as a bench scientist and six years of experience in the bioscience industry. She received her doctorate in Developmental Biology from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where her dissertation was on the transcriptional regulation of neuronal differentiation in the cerebral cortex and spinal cord. After a postdoctoral position studying inner ear development at Baylor College of Medicine, she obtained business training at Keck Graduate Institute. Joanna then joined Life Technologies (now a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific) as a scientist in Research and Development. There, she developed tools for the pluripotent stem cell workflow and supported product management in the commercialization of these products. For the last three years, Joanna has been a product manager with the same company, where she works with a cross-functional core team to develop, commercialize, support, and grow products in the pluripotent stem cell workflow, most prominently, PSC culture media for basic research or for cell therapies.

      Biography
        Lauren completed her BS in Biology at Virginia Tech and MS in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University before joining Life Technologies (now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific) in 2013 as an R&D Scientist. Her development work focuses on next generation stem cell culture systems, providing researchers efficient tools for stem cell culture, cryopreservation and differentiation. Her recent work has focused on development of cell therapy grade products enabling stem cell culture for translational and clinical research.

      Does your PSC medium support cell therapy? In this webinar, learn about Cell Therapy Systems™ (CTS™) Essential 8™ Medium, a feeder-free pluripotent stem cell (PSC) medium that has been designed to satisfy global regulatory requirements. CTS Essential 8 Medium uses the same formulation as the original research-use Essential 8 Medium as designed by the laboratory of James Thomson, but with human-and animal origin-free components. Here we describe the variety of ways in which CTS Essential 8 Medium reduces risks and facilitates regulatory filings. We also lay out other products that can support the PSC-derived cell therapy workflows along with CTS Essential 8 Medium. In the second part of the webinar, we present application data as well as data comparing the performance of CTS Essential 8 with research-use Essential 8 Medium so that you can be confident in making a seamless transition to the clinic.
