Abstract
Traumatic Brain Injury, or TBI, is the greatest contributor to death and disability globally among trauma related injuries [1]. Due to the subjectivity of current neurocognitive assessments, patients often require unnecessary CT scans and lengthy emergency room visits. An accurate test is required to confidently aid in ruling out intracranial lesion, improve patient ED throughput and evaluation, and better utilize imaging resources [2]. In this webinar:
  • Dr. Musaelyan will introduce the importance of Brain Biomarkers and how they will help address unmet needs in the objective evaluation and assessment of patients suspected of traumatic brain injuries
  • Dr. Pavletić, as the head of an Emergency Department, will share a real-life example of how the introduction of novel neurological biomarkers in the patient care pathway helps provide an objective rule out tool and helps reduce unnecessary CT scans thereby freeing resources to care for more patients
  1. Newall N et al 2020; P413, B1
  2. Michelson E et al 2018; P639, A2

Learning Objectives
  • Learn about the current landscape of mTBI and the importance of objective rule-out tools
  • Understand the latest research and evidence on Brain biomarkers for mTBI
  • Gain insights on how the introduction of brain biomarkers can improve patient care pathway in Emergency Departments through a real-life case

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
