Humanized immune system (HIS) mouse models have become indispensable for advancing translational research in immuno-oncology, autoimmune disorders, and infectious disease. This webinar will begin with an overview of HIS models, focusing on the NOG platform with CD34+ hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) engraftment. Attendees will gain an understanding of the benefits and limitations of HSC-based humanization, key considerations for experimental design, and how model selection impacts study duration and translational relevance.
A major challenge in this field is variability stemming from donor differences, which can complicate data interpretation and hinder reproducibility. To address this, we will introduce Taconic’s huSelect™ suite of services, which supports researchers with HLA-based donor selection, access to pre-characterized CD34+ HSC donors, and expanded immune profiling capabilities by flow cytometry.
