    Biography

      Dr Tho Lye Mun was an ASEAN scholar and completed his secondary and junior college education in Singapore. He was then awarded the John Crawford Scholarship to study Medicine at University of Sydney, Australia. His postgraduate training was undertaken in the United Kingdom in Internal Medicine (MRCP) and Clinical Oncology (FRCR) at Birmingham, London and Glasgow. Thereafter, he won a competitive Cancer Research UK/Royal College of Radiologist Fellowship to pursue molecular oncology research at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, Glasgow for which he was awarded a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology.



      His clinical expertise include Advanced Radiotherapy Techniques (ART) in particular intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and stereotactic radiotherapy. He is an advocate of "personalized medicine in oncology". He is an investigator and collaborator on numerous clinical trials and consult on various advisory boards.



      Dr Tho is currently practicing as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Beacon Hospital & Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
