Pushing the Boundaries: Forensic Phenotyping Challenged by Single-Cell Genomics

Abstract
Presented in the Channel: Forensic Lab.

Single cell sequencing is not commonly used in forensics. The team at the University of Munich tested groups of 5, 10 and 20 cells and performed ancestry and phenotype predictions based on consensus profiles generated with the Ion AmpliSeq™ PhenoTrivium Panel. These results suggest a great potential of using single cell sequencing in deconvoluting mixed traces submitted for the forensic phenotyping.
