Abstract
Preanalytical errors and unsuitable samples can account for up to 70% of lab errors.1 These errors can be attributed to improper specimen collection, specimen transportation, and specimen processing and/or storage. For Coagulation, challenges both outside and inside the laboratory’s control can mean the difference between accurate and potentially inaccurate results.
In this webinar, you will learn about patient variables, specimen collection, processing, and storage, as well as conditions and substances potentially interfering with testing of different coagulation parameters.
Dr. John Mitsios, PhD, Senior Clinical Hemostasis Consultant at Siemens Healthineers will help you:
  • Identify proper coagulation patient sample collection and preparation
  • Define the effect of time and temperature on coagulation results Describe preanalytical interferences associated with diagnostic errors
  • Explain the effect of HIL and fill volume on coagulation results

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after the live event.

Labroots is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® Program. By attending this webinar, you can earn 1 Continuing Education credit once you have viewed the webinar in its entirety.
