Professional Life at a Primarily Undergraduate Institution: My Journey and Lessons Learned

Presented at: Beckman Symposium
Speaker

Abstract

My experiences as a tenure-track assistant professor at a primarily undergraduate institution will be highlighted, including the expected and unexpected responsibilities of teaching, research, and service. I will touch on my biomedical research and how undergraduates have been able to successfully contribute to the work. Lessons learned and disasters (mostly) averted will be discussed. In addition, I will detail my previous professional experiences and preparation.
