Abstract

Quantum Imaging is a new and developing field that involves the application of quantum physics phenomena to develop new imaging technologies and methodologies for scientific research. We are moving from decades of quantum research towards the engineering of quantum technologies that have real-world applications, with the potential to revolutionize microscopy, spectroscopy and scientific camera development.

Quantum imaging isn't a single technique but a whole field with many different approaches. Involving entanglement, correlation and interference-based techniques, quantum imaging stands to enhance resolution and sensitivity, and even perform imaging that was previously impossible with classical physics equipment and techniques.

As quantum physics and quantum imaging are rich and nuanced subject, this webinar stars guest speaker Prof. Markus Grafe of TU Darmstadt, Professor of experimental solid state quantum optics who's research includes quantum imaging, integrated quantum photonics,and quantum source development! Along with Prof. Markus Grafe, Dr. Matthew Kose-Dunn of Teledyne Photometrics will outline examples of quantum phenomena that are useful for imaging, examples of quantum technologies, and how Teledyne Photometrics scientific cameras are already being used as solutions for quantum research.
