Abstract
Plastic ingestion by seabirds has been studied for decades, however the identification of the polymers found in seabirds has only recently been addressed. We determined the types of polymers of the plastic pieces found in the gizzards of Great Shearwaters (Ardenna gravis) taken from fisheries bycatch in the Gulf of Maine from 2010 - 2019.
