Abstract
This webinar seeks to introduce novel innovative testing based on the computational integration of three host immune response proteins, TRAIL, IP-10, and CRP to differentiate bacterial from viral infections and for identification of coinfection. The assay is approved for use in pediatric and adult patients with suspected acute infection with symptoms for seven days or less, presenting to the emergency department or urgent care center, and samples collected at hospital admission.

Identifying and managing acute infections in the Emergency Department and upon admission to the hospital can be challenging for many reasons. The host immune response technology in the assay offers advantages in accuracy, and faster results, and are not dependent on identification of infection site. This session will explore the implementation journey, clinical utilization, and economic impact of the assay. Performance data and selected case studies will be discussed using novel technology that quickly and accurately identifies the etiology of acute infections.

Learning Objectives
  • Clarify the implementation journey, including challenges, of a new technology in a real-world clinical setting
  • Identify the clinical, operational, and economic impact of novel assays in real-world settings
  • Examine selected case studies to identify potential assay application

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
