Abstract
Density gradient ultracentrifugation is known to provide high purity and high yield viral vector separations required for gene therapy therapeutics. By using a vertical rotor purpose-built for density gradient separations, users can separate empty and full viral capsids faster and with better resolution. Furthermore, with the launch of Beckman Coulter’s VTi 50.1 rotor, the advantages that inherently come with vertical rotors are coupled with 50% more throughput than the Type 70 Ti rotor.

Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of vertical rotors for viral vector purification
  • Explain why a vertical rotor is able to form a continuous density gradient in as little as 80 minutes
  • Understand how to implement, optimize, and scale up or down density gradient ultracentrifugation (DGUC) using a vertical rotor
  • Understand how to choose appropriate ultracentrifugation hardware and consumables

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
